Council Camp: Gus Blass Scout Reservation

The Gus Blass Scout Reservation is a 3,200 acre Scout Camp in central Arkansas owned and operated by the Natural State Council headquartered in Little Rock. Formerly known as the Cove Creek Scout Reservation, the property was acquired in the 1970’s and has been a home to Scouting Excellence ever since.

The Gus Blass Scout Reservation (GBSR) is located approximately 2 ½ miles west of Damascus, Arkansas on highway 285. GBSR is home to a variety of facilities to deliver a top-notch experience for your group! These areas include: 

  • Camp Rockefeller
  • Donald W. Reynolds Training Center
  • Bowen Lodge & the Jay F. Hill Order of the Arrow Amphitheater
  • Short-Term Multi-use Camping Facility
  • C.O.P.E. Course (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience.)

In addition to Scouts BSA Resident Summer Camp, the Gus Blass Scout Reservation hosts Cub Scout Resident Camp, a multitude of unit camp outs and activities, Cub Scout Family Weekends, District and Council Camporees, and numerous training events for youth and adult leaders alike.
