Foothills 2025 District Banquet

Please join us on Saturday, February 8th at 5 PM for dinner at First Christian Church in Conway, AR to celebrate, recognize, and award the volunteers and units that went above and beyond in their Scouting journeys this year.

We will be giving out awards for the following categories: District Award of Merit, Foothills Family of the Year, Cubmaster of the Year, Scoutmaster of the Year, Committee Member of the Year, Best Event at the Scout Expo, and units will receive awards for their advancement work.

There will also be a special guest speaker who will share their Scouting experience. Attendees can also expect to take home the new district logo patch.

 

Event Details:

Cost: $16 for adults, $8 for youth, $20 and $10 at the door

RSVP by 2/1/25

Menu: BBQ pork or chicken, potato salad, baked beans, roll or bun, banana pudding

 

Awards Descriptions:

District Award of Merit: This is the highest award given to someone to someone at the district level from the council. This award should go to a volunteer who has gone above and beyond not just in their unit, but in the district as well. Have they helped with a district or council event? Are they involved in the district committee? Someone who is nominated for the District Award of Merit should be a dedicated Scouter who volunteers at multiple levels.

Foothills Family of the Year: This award is presented to a family who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to Scouting within the Foothills district. Through their unwavering support, volunteerism, and dedication to the principles of Scouting, this family has made a lasting impact on the Foothills community.

Cubmaster of the Year: This award recognizes an individual who has shown outstanding leadership and dedication in guiding a Cub Scout Pack in the Cubmaster position. This award celebrates a Cubmaster who has demonstrated exceptional skill in creating a fun, engaging, and educational program that fosters growth, teamwork, and personal development in their Scouts. Their leadership has made a significant impact on the Pack's success, while encouraging the values of Scouting in young minds.

Scoutmaster of the Year: This award honors an individual who has exemplified leadership, dedication, and mentorship in their role as Scoutmaster. This person has shown exceptional commitment to the growth and development of Scouts, ensuring they not only achieve personal success, but also foster a strong sense of community, responsibility, and character. The Scoutmaster of the Year leads with vision, provides unwavering support to both Scouts and fellow leaders, and continuously inspires Scouts to reach their full potential.

Committee Member of the Year: This award is presented to a volunteer who has gone above and beyond in supporting the operational and administrative functions of their Scout unit. This individual has made a significant contribution to the planning, organization, and execution of unit activities, ensuring that Scouts, leaders, and families have the resources and support they need to thrive. Through their dedication and behind-the-scenes work, this committee member plays a vital role in the continued success of their unit’s programs.

Best Event at the Scout Expo: This award recognizes the event or activity that stands out as the most innovative, engaging, and impactful at the annual Scout Expo. This award celebrates an event that captured the spirit of Scouting and inspired both Scouts and visitors through creativity, hands-on learning, and the embodiment of Scouting values. Whether it was a demonstration, challenge, or activity, this event exemplified the best of what Scouting has to offer and made a lasting impression on all who participated.
