Roundtable will be held on Thursday, June 11, at 7pm at St. James United Methodist Church on 321 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock.

The Pinnacle District is comprised of Pulaski and Lonoke counties and includes the communities of Little Rock, North Little Rock, Alexander, Hensley, Jacksonville, Maumelle, Sherwood, and Cabot.  Our Facebook page is  located at https://www.facebook.com/PinnacleDistrict.BSA/.

  • Hazardous Weather Training - Hazardous Weather Training became mandatory for all Direct Contact Leaders (Cubmasters, Asst Cubmasters, Den Leaders, Scoutmasters, and Asst Scoutmasters).  Please go online and complete the Hazardous Weather Training as soon as possible.  It is good for two years.

  • Safeguarding Youth and Recharter Dates - Login to my.scouting.org.  On the main menu you will see the your Registration Expiration Date and the SYT (formerly YPT) Expiration Date.  Be sure to register and complete SYT on time.
  • Free Digital Merit Badge Resources Now Available - All merit badge pamphlets are now available as free PDFs https://www.scouting.org/skills/merit-badges/all/ on the official Scouting.org merit badge site. Printed pamphlets will continue to be updated and sold through Scouting America and local Scout Shops.  Just click on a merit badge and click on "Download the Free Pamplet" to download a full PDF image of the pamplet.

Pinnacle District Target Sports Morning at Hindman Park, Little Rock on June 27

All Scouts and their families are invited for a fun morning of BB gun, archery, slingshots and scout games at the Hindman Park Pavilion area.  The event is free.  However, if you would like a lunch (and who doesn’t want a hotdog), you can sign up for a lunch for $6 per person (2 hotdogs, chips and a drink).

  • BB guns, archery and slingshot
  • Bring your frisbee and you can participate in the frisbee golf course
  • Bring a basketball for the basketball court.
  • There is a nice baseball field for field sports;  bring a ball.
  • Nice creeks are nearby where you can wade and catch critters.
  • If you are a member of a pack, bring a group scout game.
  • Lots of shade; bring your lawn chairs

Directions

  • At the corner of South University and 65th Street, head west on Hindman Park Way.
  • Follow Hindman Park Way through the neighborhood;  you will pass through the park entrance.
  • Continue on Hindman Park Way.  Take the first right turn.  (The left turn leads to the old golf course clubhouse.  This is the wrong way)
  • Continue for 2-3 blocks and you will see the pavilion parking lot on your left.

Schedule - Saturday June 27

  • 9am - Opening Flag Ceremony - Begin your fun.  Rotate through the games as the range becomes available.
  • Noon - Lunch in the pavilion
  • 1pm - Closing

  • Eagle Scout Application - Life Scouts who have completed all their Eagle requirements must submit their Eagle Application, completed Eagle Project Workbook, and Statement of Ambitions and Life Purpose to the Council Registrar for verification and signature.  Please arrange these papers in order with a paperclip and put in a large envelope and take to the council service center and place in the Eagle Drop Box near the ground level entrance (retain a copy for your records).  She will review all paperwork using the checklist and scan them into the computer to be part of the official record.  The process will be smoother and quicker if it is pre-checked (See Application Process and  Check Sheet) by an adult leader to avoid discrepancies.  Then you will be notified to pick it up.  The Eagle Board of Review may not be scheduled until her verification is done and signed.

  • Many Youth Protection Certificates are expiring, so be sure to keep yours up to date.
